What are the operating procedures for running this business?: The website is currently run through Cratejoy, but I have purchased the domain for the business name for future use. Quarterly: Poll subscribers to determine where the next box will come from. Start compiling a list of small businesses from that area and reach out to source products. Schedule pick up/shipment of products from vendors. Create box inserts to describe included products/companies. Verify packing materials. Pack, label, and ship boxes. Take marketing photos/videos for social media and website usage. Pay quarterly sales taxes. Request feedback from customers on boxes. Monthly: The tasks listed above are performed every 3 months and shipments go out every February, May, August, and November. Weekly: Send bi-weekly emails to email list. Schedule out social media content for the week on Facebook and Instagram. Daily: Respond to any customer service issues or inquiries that come up. Engage on social media on days that I post.
If you were going to keep the site, what steps would you take over the next 3 to 6 months to grow the income and traffic?: Change the format of the boxes from focusing on a specific city to either a region or turn the theme into "topics" instead of a city. For example, do a movie night theme box or spring picnic. Start running Facebook ads.
